Goals and Impact

CAST serves over 10,000 audience members and participants annually with its professional programming, theatre for young audiences, and youth theatre camps. While much of our audience is from Clinton County, we also have significant engagement from Jackson and Scott Counties in Iowa, as well as Whiteside, Carroll, Rock Island and Henry Counties in Illinois.

Community Impact

We believe serving the greater Clinton area should be one of our top priorities! Over the years we have found multiple ways to not only promote and attract visitors to our great city but to help improve and enrich the community. Here are some examples from years past:

Renovation and upkeep of the iconic paddle wheel. Check out the video to the right to learn more!
Fostering a since of creativity, artistry, and work skills through our education programs.
Participating by performing or lending a hand in local events such as Felix Adler Day, Fourth of July celebrations, Finally Friday, Singing the National Anthem for the Lumberkings games.

Economic Impact

The Broadway League and Theatre Communications Group report that the contribution of the average American theatre goer to their local economy is 3.27 times the gross ticket price for each ticket purchased. So, beyond the $95,000 CAST returned to the local economy in 2019 for goods and services, our audience members brought an additional $450,000 to the region in ancillary spending on restaurants, transportation and lodging. We anticipate that number reaching $500,000 in 2023.

Volunteer Opportunities

Join our team as a volunteer usher! We need community supporters to serve as ushers at every performance.

Duties: Prepare the seating area before the show. Greet guests, escort them to their seats, and distribute programs. Clean up the seating area after the show. Additional important information provided on the sign-up page for each production.
